Although this could very well be a picture of me finding a new treasure at a favorite nursery, it's actually an illustration by David Catrow for a children's book called Plantzilla.

Wednesday Vignette

October is definitely in full swing with cold nights and the rain for which the Pacific Northwest is so famous.  On Sunday, the precipitation was too heavy to be considered mist but too light to be real rain.  It bejeweled the leaves and spider webs beautifully.

Wednesday Vignette is hosted by blogging pal Anna at Flutter and Hum.  Be sure to visit her blog to see links to the WV's of other bloggers.

  3. You captured some lovely spiderwebs. I've seen a few like that lately too. Do you get spiders inside the greenhouse as well?

    1. Yes, there are spiders in the greenhouse. Funny, there aren't many flying insects in there because of all of the carnivorous plants. I like spiders as long as they're not actually on my person.

  5. Sounds like you've been getting a lot more moisture than we have. At least you're putting it to good use and sharing it with us.

  7. Who knew that standard issue chocolate mimosa could be improved upon by a little bling?

  8. I've been hearing that the Puget Sound area is getting a lot more moisture than we are further south. I'd love some more of that down here, though I have been enjoying the morning fog, which also does a fair job of lighting up the spider webs. You captured some great images, Peter!

  11. Wow, beautiful photos Peter! I can feel the chill and damp and the tiny drops of rain caught on the leaves is stunning!

    1. Thanks, Laurin! The chill and damp are a nice change from the really hot summer we had but I'll be done with that sort of thing by the end of December. Unfortunately, we have about three more months of it after that until it starts warming up again.

  12. Lovely fall images, Outlaw. We're getting rainy weather this weekend, and I look forward to bejeweled webs and whatnot, if we don't wash away. It is Texas, after all.
